This weekend, we were at it once again as the Rochester DJ and wedding entertainment vendor of choice for the Vega Wedding. This was a really fun one for us and we had a couple of firsts for Kalifornia Entertainment with this reception. Not only are we friends with the bride and groom but we have worked with the bride at many Rochester weddings because she, herself, is a wedding vendor as well. She’s an incredible photographer that specializes in receptions, newborn and many other types of Rochester photography. We know the groom through the local car scene and have hung out many times at car meets, get togethers, cruises and car shows. The groom currently has a fully built blue WRX STI so we matched our wash lighting to his car, which was great! As for the things that we’re a first for us, the first thing is that involved playing dinner music off of a Spotify playlist which is something we have never done before. We also DJ during cocktail hour and dinner hour in order to set the tone and mood for the night. The bride wanted us to enjoy dinner and not work so for the first time ever in all of the years as a private event entertainment company, we sat at a vendor table and ate dinner with the rest of the guests. The second that was new for us is that the bride and groom chose to have make-your-own “Garbage Plates” served for the dinner meal. We usually see the the common pasta and “Chicken French” here in WNY but this was the first time we ever been to a reception that had Garbage Plates. If you’re unfamiliar with what those are, do an easy Google search and you’ll see this delicious food and what it is. Overall, it was a fantastic night and we had a great time.
